A modular or prefab home is a factory built home. It is manufactured and constructed off-site in our state-of-the-art facility and then transported and assembled on-site on your lot.

HOW IS A MODULAR OR PREFAB HOME DELIVERED AND INSTALLED?

Utilizing specialized equipment, your home is carefully loaded onto an air-ride speciality trailers and transported to your lot. Our highly skilled delivery team cranes it onto your foundation and installs it in a single day.

AM I LIMITED BY HAVING TO CHOOSE ONE OF QUALITY HOMES' DESIGNS?

Absolutely not. While we have a huge selection of designs in our own collection to choose from, you can modify a plan or work with us to design a completely custom home just for you. Or bring us a design and we will assess building it for you!

ARE YOUR HOMES PROVIDED AS A "KIT"?

No. Our homes are not sold off the shelf as kits. Quality Homes provides a complete home, which includes a foundation. We offer turnkey services under one roof in-house so you only have to deal with one reliable company for the construction of your entire custom home.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO BUILD MY HOME?

The time from start to finish depends on the size and finishing of your home. On average it takes 12 to 16 weeks to build your home – from the day you receive your building permit to the day your home is complete. But, most importantly, our Homeowner’s Ultimate Guarantee (HUG) program guarantees the initially agreed upon completion date. Should we not complete your home on time, we will pay you $250 per day for each day we are late.

WHAT AM I RESPONSIBLE FOR IN TERMS OF THE BUILDING OF MY NEW HOME?

You are responsible for providing a lot as well as services such as well and septic (where necessary), and hook-ups to municipal services such as hydro, cable and phone services. Quality Homes can assist you with securing a building permit as well as any other challenges that arise.

AM I RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF MY HOME'S FOUNDATION?

No. Quality Homes includes a full-height, poured concrete foundation as part of your home’s included specifications.

DO YOU BUILD ADDITIONS?

In some cases, yes. Quality Homes builds additions on a selective basis. We need to be sure that we have good access to the building site, and that the existing structure is conducive to receiving an addition. We do not do second storey or upper floor additions.

WHAT IS COVERED UNDER MY NEW HOME WARRANTY?

Quality Homes offers a full 10-year extended structural warranty, which is three years longer than Tarion Home Warranty Corporation’s 7-year standard. Quality Homes is registered with the Tarion Home Warranty Corporation. In partnership with Tarion, we guarantee that every Quality home is free from defects in workmanship and materials. Quality Homes has been nominated for the Tarion Award of Excellence.

WHAT IS THE IMPACT OF THE HST ON MY NEW HOME PURCHASE?

All new home purchases are subject to HST. However, a 6% rebate up to a maximum of $24,000 may be available on your new home if it is your primary residence. Talk to us. We can help!

HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE PER SQUARE FOOT?

Since we are a custom homebuilder, the price per square foot varies depending on your home’s design, finishes and structural items such as deck, porch and garage. Once we have your home designed, we will provide guaranteed pricing that will not vary. You will never find extra charges in a Quality Homes home. The price we quote is the price you will pay. Period.
