HAPPY HOMEOWNERS: NANCY & IAN CELEBRATE 10 YEARS OF QUALITY

A homeowner’s journey doesn’t end when they move into their new Quality Home. It’s just the beginning. And for Nancy and Ian, it was the beginning of something very special.

In 2015, it became clear that their home no longer supported the life they wanted to live, but they loved their property too much to give it up. And so, determined to tear down their existing home and rebuild on the same property, Nancy and Ian began searching online for new home builders in Ontario. But they knew from the start that they didn’t want to take the traditional path.

“When my family and I began thinking about rebuilding our home, one thing was certain—we didn’t want to go the traditional route. We had watched friends struggle through the process of building a conventionally constructed home, dealing with projects that ran over budget, fell behind schedule, and ultimately left them with a stressful experience. We knew there had to be a better way.”

Nancy’s realization led her to the natural solution: finding a custom modular home builder in Ontario who could help build their dream home. And after hours of research, scouring websites and social media, they found Quality Homes.

It was late in the year when they first visited the Quality Homes Sales Office, but the second they stepped inside the Rosseau model home, it was love at first sight. The spacious open concept layout was perfect for their family’s lifestyle, with plenty of room to host lively celebrations for all occasions.

By December, Nancy and Ian had signed their agreement—they would have a Quality Home of their very own by springtime.

With the support of their dedicated Building Consultant, the next few months were an exciting time. Adjustments were made to Nancy and Ian’s Rosseau design, customizing it to suit their lifestyle by adding a walk-in pantry, streamlining the mudroom side entrance for better kitchen access, and even including a walk-out basement to match their property.

Come January, they chose their features and finishes. Warm laminate flooring and cabinetry were chosen with the support of our Decor & Design Team, guiding their decisions to create a timeless, harmonious design.

At the same time, the modules of their home began to take shape inside our state-of-the-art factory, protected from the harsh Ontario winter weather so that it would be in pristine condition when it was ready to be installed on their property. Once the snow melted, site preparation began. Since we had helped guide Nancy and Ian through the permitting process, they’d gotten all their ducks in a row for the demolition of their existing home and the construction of their new foundation.

“As the delivery date approached, preparations began at our site. There was a lot to coordinate—preparing the foundation for the walkout basement, relocating trees, and installing a new driveway to accommodate the incoming modules.”

In May 2016, Nancy and Ian’s new custom modular home was installed on their foundation. Even 10 years later, they remember the feeling of anticipation and wonder as they watched each module lifted by crane and set in place with a precision that has made Quality Homes known as Air Tightness Champions.

Once a modular home is installed on your property in Ontario, the final stage has to begin. This is where the modules are completed, ensuring that every detail and every seam is given the attention it deserves. And in less than two months, it was finally time.

June 29th, 2016—the official date that Nancy and Ian moved into their dream home ten years ago. But as we said, this story is only the beginning.

“Over the next couple of years, I stayed connected with Quality Homes through social media—commenting on posts, sharing photos of our home, and even volunteering to showcase it to prospective buyers. I truly believed in this way of building and was proud of our experience. Eventually, I found myself thinking: why not be part of helping others have the same positive journey?”

Almost three years to the day of their home’s delivery date—on May 1st, 2019—Nancy started a new journey with Quality Homes, working as one of our incredible Building Consultants.

Having been through the process herself, Nancy can understand our homebuyers like nobody else. A commitment as big as custom building a home can be a whirlwind of joy and excitement, challenges and uncertainties. Nancy’s insight into these emotions allows her to make a meaningful connection with each new homebuyer who comes through our doors, an invaluable talent that makes her work endlessly rewarding.

As we approach Nancy and Ian’s 10 Year Anniversary as Quality Homeowners, we have the incredible opportunity to see just how well their home has stood the test of time. All through their busy daily life, their home has withstood daily wear and tear, remaining just as beautiful as it was when they moved in a decade ago.

When we had the privilege to interview them several years ago, they were still amazed by the level of attention and care Quality Homes provided in contrast to typical construction companies. “And then the follow-up—they come after 30 days, a year later, five years, and they’ll come back in ten years,” Nancy and Ian shared, “And you just don’t get that with a contractor. I would do another Quality Home in a heartbeat. Without question.” It’s no wonder Nancy felt so strongly about becoming part of the team that provides homeowners with so much support!

Soon, we will be conducting our 10-year follow-up to make sure that Nancy and Ian’s home will last another decade of love and comfort. But in the meantime, we would like to wish them a very happy anniversary with Quality Homes, and thank you for being a part of our family. Cheers to 10 years!
