HAPPY HOMEOWNERS: BRIAN & HOLLY’S COUNTRY ABODE

When Brian and Holly decided it was time for a new home, they faced a tricky decision. They wanted a new home, but they adored their beautiful property in the rolling hills of Ontario’s countryside. How could they leave it behind for a new home?

Brian and Holly had always wanted to build a new home. They owned 16 acres of land just 10 minutes north of their existing property, so they decided to build their dream home there. And of course, with the decision to build their own custom home came the next question—which builder should they choose?

“We chose Quality Homes because we liked the house designs and finishes better than the other companies we looked at. We were even able to visit someone who built the model we liked. A number of people also recommended Quality Homes to us.”

Once the big decision was made, it was time to get to work! With the help from our Sales and Drafting team, Brian and Holly selected our stylish Lindsay design, which was mirrored to better suit their lot and the driveway that they would be building on.

“We added a 3-car garage to add extra storage for vehicles and equipment, and had a few unique features of our own that we wanted to include, like stained-glass windows and a hand-painted ceramic sink.”

The Lindsay is a beautiful 3-bedroom bungalow perfectly designed to balance public and private spaces within the home. Bedrooms are tucked away along one side of the home, with the mudroom and laundry along another. This leaves the rest of the design to become an open-concept kitchen, living, and dining room with plenty of bright windows to showcase the views of this beautiful property.

Before their home went into construction in our indoor production facility in Kenilworth, Brian and Holly got to choose all of the beautiful features and finishes to bring their design dreams to life. From choosing hardwood flooring for the bedroom to a natural beige ceramic tile for the kitchen area, the Quality Homes’ Design & Décor Team worked closely with the new homeowners to find the right look and style for each room. Soon Brian and Holly’s country home was ready to be delivered. A strong foundation was laid, the quality construction was finished, and it was time to hit the road! In February 2020, their home was transported in modules from the Quality Homes Factory in Kenilworth to their property just outside of Tottenham (near Barrie).

But although installation went as smoothly as ever, there was one bump in the road—the first wave of COVID-19 shutdowns pressed pause on the process before our on-site team was able to finish.

However, Quality Homes never quits. After just a short pause, our site team was able to get the job done safely and efficiently, even with the challenges that a global pandemic presented.
